Today we're investigating weather in different places around the world. To do this you will need to find and share data using websites to learn about the specific characteristics of different places. Our objective is to see if weather is the same around the world or if there are any trends or patterns that we can recognise.

Our objective is to see if weather is the same around the world or if there are any trends or patterns that we can recognise.
Starter Activity: Using the projection from the website shown on the board, you have to generate 3 questions about the information you are seeing on the screen. You can also access this website on your laptops. Your questions should be designed to help you investigate what you are seeing.

Task 1: Investigation and research. In pairs, use the website links to research the weather conditions for the locations card you have been given. You will need to use weather.com and wunderground.com to find the information.
Task 2: Sharing and collaborating. Using a World map on the board we're going to identify the locations and share the information on each to build up our global picture of the weather. Fill in the details from the other groups on to you own world map |
Task 3: Identifying patterns. What trends or patterns can we see? are there certain parts of the world that have the same weather or does it change? Write a paragraph to describe any pattern you see on the map. Make sure you back up any statements with evidence or examples from the data we have collected.
