In Hong Kong we have very interesting weather. Compared with other places, Hong Kong is a pretty warm place, but we can still have ice and snow in the winter, and because we don't have cold weather often, it sometimes feels REALLY cold. Hong Kong can also feel warmer than it should be, because we can have very high humidity. Hong Kong has a lot of rain and wind, especially during Typhoon seasons Did you know that most places don't have categorisations for rain (like our Amber, Red and Black system).
In this unit you will understand what makes different wether happen. We will look at different ways we can measure weather and the equipment we use to do this. We will also look at things that can affect and change weather conditions within a very small area.

KEY TERMS: The file to the right has a full list of words and vocabulary that we will use when studying weather, typhoons and landslides. You should aim to use these terms when possible, particularly in the assessment.
