Objective 1: What is Globalisation?
Is there a global culture? As part of this section we will explore the concept of a global culture. Is there one culture that dominates the world or do different parts of the world have their own unique and distinct cultures, unaffected by others. We will investigate our own cultural preferences and see if there is one culture that we are interested in.

Objective 2: What role does trade play in Globalisation?
As part of this section we will be looking at a number of different ways in which trade influences and enables globalisation, but also asking who the winners and losers of this process can be.
The Trading Game.
In the Trading Game you will be placed in to imaginary countries and will be given the job of trying to produce as many manufactured items as possible. You will need raw materials and a manufacturing capability, but also to trade with other countries. Some countries will find it harder to make money than others and this is a useful way to find out where the balance of power lies in the world of global trade.

Specialisation
We will also learn about specialisation. Again by acting as imaginary countries you will learn that when some countries specialise in producing certain goods or products it can be beneficial for more than one country. If all countries manage to develop what's called a competitive advantage, they can all benefit from specialisation.
