Objective 1: To be able to describe the
functioning of the atmospheric system
In this unit we will be looking at climate change, its causes, its accelerators and the consequences that changes in climate have on our environment. To do this we need to find out more about the atmosphere of our planet. The Stern Review in 2006 was a watershed in the way many policy makers thought about climate change, with it's reflections on the economic impact of climate change, concluding that repairing the cost of inaction could outweigh the costs of proposed actions to address the changes.
Objective 2: To explain how humans can influence the atmospheric balanceGreenhouse gasses have an influence on climate change and humans have an influence on the amount of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere. In this section we will explore the different greenhouse gasses, examining what influences their presence in the atmosphere are and how their presence affects it.

Objective 3: Discuss the environmental consequences
of global climate change.
Some of the environmental consequences of climate change are well publicised and have entered general knowledge. In this section we need to look at a collection of consequences and add on some extra specific detail to our own general knowledge. To explore this further, each person will be given an individual area of enquiry. Your aim will be to research this consequence in detail but select the key concepts and present a summary of them graphically. Each of you will be given a consequence and your mission is to present this in no more than one side. The main concept should be summarised as a graphic - either a diagram, flow chart or alternative. You should include written information, but this should be annotations. Remember to include specific details that your classmates could use as examples in their answers. I have put together a very rough example for you. On this example there is something missing - can you tell what it is? How could you improve this?
This is our final creation. A great selection of information on the consequences of climate change. Click on the padlet button to see.
